Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for the positions:
General Requirements
Domicile: Only candidates domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir are eligible to apply.
Age Limit: Maximum age should not exceed 40 years as of the last date of application. However, relaxation of up to one year may be granted for candidates who have represented India in recognized international competitions.
Minimum Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed at least the Matriculation (10th) examination.
Registration Requirement: All applicants must register as Coaches on the National Sports Repository System (NSRS) portal at https://nsrs.kheloindia.gov.in.
Sports Achievements Preference
The selection process gives priority to candidates based on their past sports achievements as follows:
Individual Sports
First Preference: Represented India in recognized international competitions under a recognized NSF/Association.
Second Preference: Medal winners at Senior National Championships conducted by recognized NSF or Khelo India Games.
Third Preference: Participation in medal-winning teams at National Championships or Khelo India Games.
Fourth Preference: Representation at the State level in Senior National Championships or participation in Khelo India Games.
Team Sports
First Preference: Represented India in recognized international team competitions.
Second Preference: Part of a medal-winning team at Senior National Championships or Khelo India Games.
Third Preference: Represented State teams in Senior National Championships conducted by recognized NSF or participated in Khelo India Games.
Educational Qualification Weightage
In addition to sports achievements, candidates will be awarded points based on educational qualifications:
Post-Graduation: 5 points
Graduation: 3 points
12th Standard: 2 points
Matriculation: 1 point
Coaching Experience
Coaching experience from recognized institutions, SAI, National Sports Federations (NSF), or UT Associations will be considered.

Remuneration and Terms of Engagement
Remuneration: Past champion athletes will receive a maximum annual remuneration of ₹3.00 lakhs, subject to maintaining a minimum of 30 regular trainees in the specified sports discipline.
Duration: The engagement is purely temporary and will not confer any right to regularization.
Contract Period: The Khelo India Centre Sub-Scheme will run for 4 years, coinciding with the Olympic cycle and coterminous with the Khelo India Scheme.
Important Terms and Conditions
Document Authenticity: Candidates must ensure the authenticity of all submitted documents. Any tampering or fabrication will result in disqualification and legal action.
Equal Gender Representation: Centers must strive to maintain an equal ratio of male and female trainees.
Identification of Talent Pool: Talent identification will be carried out by the selected Coach in consultation with the Executive Director, SAI Regional Centre, or Divisional Sports Officer.
Agreement: A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the J&K Sports Council and the selected candidates.
Coaching Certification: Coaches with NIS certification may also be considered eligible.
Incomplete Applications: Incomplete forms or applications without requisite documents will be rejected.
Evaluation Criteria for Selection
Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Sports Achievements (20 Points Maximum)
International Medals/Participation: Gold - 20 points, Silver - 18 points, Bronze - 16 points, Participation - 15 points.
Senior National/Khelo India Medals: Gold - 15 points, Silver - 13 points, Bronze - 11 points.
All India Inter-University Medals: Gold - 10 points, Silver - 8 points, Bronze - 6 points.
Participation in Senior National/Khelo India Games: 5 points.
Educational Qualification (5 Points Maximum)
Points will be awarded based on the highest qualification attained by the candidate.
